剧情简介
一九九一年夏天一个闷燥的夜晚。北方某城市的郊区公路上。四个城里来的青年在贩西瓜回城的路上。他们是工人葛志强、工人赵永刚、车队司机徐大年、国营粮店职工蒋必成。郊区道路上，有人在拦截西瓜车强买西瓜。四兄弟不服，坚决不给对方，并且和对方争执了起来。争斗后，对方败走。可是，没想到对方会追回来并等在半路袭击他们。双方打斗，而在这个过程中，赵永刚为救葛志强挨了对方一刀身死。倒在血泊中的赵永刚哀求葛志强、徐大年和蒋必成照顾他的家里。因为他父亲早丧而他是家中的老大，是家中的主要经济支柱。他在这比较困难的几个人的家中，是最困难的一家。三个人都发了毒誓，要照顾他的家里人；并且，三个人承诺，以后他们挣的任何一分钱，都有赵永刚的一份。
