《虫图腾》改编自作者狼七的同名小说，讲述了民国时期，虫草堂名医潘俊与同为虫族五大家族后人相遇，得知祖上关于虫族宝藏的线索，从此踏上寻找族人遗留宝物的旅程。他们结伴而行，一起寻找能开启宝藏的五族秘宝，期间游历各地，探索祖上秘闻，一路上抗击瘟疫、打抱不平，眼看着离宝藏越来越近，却遭遇了盗宝者势力的打击，由此揭开了二十年前争夺宝藏的真相。他们也从最初对财富的渴望，渐渐背负起守护国家宝藏的使命，与盗宝者展开重重较量，最终粉碎了对方的贪婪之心，使传说中的虫族宝藏重见天日。在此过程中，他们学会了团队协作，结下了深厚的友情,以及发展了纯粹的爱情，从懵懂无知的少年成长为有责任感的英雄。
