三湘大地，自古匪情如炽。北宋以降，历朝历代均花费大量人力物力，或兴师动众，近剿 远伐，或招安抚慰，软硬兼施，然大多无功而返，收效甚微，“野火烧不尽，春风吹又生”。 多少明君英主，猛将能臣，惟有望匪兴叹，徒唤奈何。 一九五零年，中国人民解放军奉命进湘剿匪，潇湘古城，洒落几许青春的热血，十万大山，留 下太多英勇的传奇！自此，三湘千载匪踪绝灭，人民安享盛世太平，解放军将士用自己的鲜血 和生命，勇气和智慧结束了湖南历史上最后的匪事
