剧情简介
中国第一部西部历险片。生于土匪世家的马也（人称马爷）狡猾凶残，他勾结国外的犯罪集团对藏羚羊进行大规模的偷猎。于是，一个国际性的通过盗猎、加工、销售藏羚羊披肩而牟取暴利的团伙应运而生。为了打击这个日益猖獗的犯罪团伙和保护可可西里的资源，青海省治多县成立了西部工作委员会。县委副书记索南达杰任第一任书记后，出生入死，十多次带领公安武警与凶残的盗猎团伙正面交火。先后查获盗猎团伙8个，收缴大批枪支等盗猎工具和两千多张藏羚羊皮。盗猎团伙对他恨之入骨，视为眼中钉、肉中刺。于是一个由马爷等18人组成的武装盗猎团伙秘密潜入可可西里，准备对藏羚羊进行大规模的盗猎捕杀行动，索南达杰得到消息后立刻带领公安武警赶去藏羚羊出没的地方埋伏，在激烈的枪战中一颗子弹打中了他的头部，索南达杰不幸牺牲。在索南达杰牺牲后，为了打击日益猖獗的盗猎活动，西部工委又组成了一支反盗猎公安队伍，在索南达杰事迹的感召下，留学归国的赵栋、林采等人也加入了反盗猎公安队伍，从此与盗猎者的殊死博斗继续延续下去。正义与邪恶在较量，爱情与阴谋在博杀，生命与热生在流淌……
