剧情简介
清末民初，江南濮院镇贺家是江浙绞丝业首富。贺家的发达归功于掌管全家事业的老太太金普荷。在家里金老太太说一不二，遭到族人憎恨。一家中，只有儿媳宝琴对她绝对信任与服从。宝琴深受礼教束缚，用同样思想教育女儿，将丈夫的不忠、儿子的不孝归咎于自己的宿命。宝琴的丈夫贺文达风流成性，与青楼女楚楚生有一子名为润生。润生秘密被贺家管家领养，聪明过人。叔叔贺贵全一直垂涎于贺家财产。他与马贼勾结绑架了侄子贺文达。殊不知劫匪头铁军竟与贺文达长得如同一人。铁军乔装成贺文达来到贺家暗查身世之谜。他为人耿直。他的到来揭开了隐藏多年的秘密，也为贺家女人点亮希望之灯。最终为保护金家的女人，铁军承担了绑架罪名，使贺贵全夺权阴谋落空。铁军的死，让宝琴明白女人也同样有追求幸福的权利。最终成全下女雨浓与润生的幸福人生。
